**Bengaluru, February 23, 2025** – Hyder Ali, a 38-year-old man with a history of criminal activity, was brutally hacked to death by an armed gang in Bengaluru early Sunday morning. The attack occurred near Garuda Mall, shortly after Ali left a pub in Ashok Nagar.
Ali, a known rowdy-sheeter with 11 criminal cases against him since 2014, was returning home on a scooter with a friend when the gang, estimated to number 8-10, ambushed him. Police believe the attack was premeditated, as the assailants appeared to have tracked Ali’s movements. While some members of the gang followed Ali on scooters, others waited in a car near the stadium. Ali’s friend, a gym owner, was slapped and chased away before the gang focused their attack on Ali.
Ali sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to Bowring Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The incident caused tense moments at the hospital mortuary as Ali’s associates, also known to be involved in criminal activities, gathered.
Ashok Nagar police suspect the murder stemmed from personal rivalry and have formed two special teams to apprehend the assailants. The investigation is ongoing.
