**COACHELLA, CA** – The Coachella Valley is celebrating a recent run of good fortune, with two local stores selling winning lottery tickets totaling over $1.5 million in just one week. A Stater Bros. Markets in La Quinta sold a Mega Millions ticket worth $1,499,864 on February 14th, matching the first five numbers. The store itself will receive a $7,500 bonus for selling the winning ticket. The winning numbers were 11, 19, 31, 49, 56, and Mega Ball 16.
Adding to the valley’s luck, an Arco ampm in Coachella sold the top winning ticket in Wednesday’s SuperLotto Plus draw, awarding the lucky player $33,186. The winning numbers were 1, 4, 12, 15, 28 and Mega number 15.
These recent wins follow other significant lottery payouts in the area. Last March, a Stater Bros. in Cathedral City sold a Mega Millions ticket worth over $2.1 million, and in September, an Arco ampm in Cathedral City sold a winning Mega Millions ticket worth $2,233,779. The California Lottery notes that the odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350, while the odds of winning the SuperLotto Plus jackpot are 1 in 41,416,353.
