Sat Feb 22 10:51:44 UTC 2025: ## UP Board Exams Postponed in Prayagraj Due to Kumbh Mela
**Prayagraj, India** – The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has announced a postponement of the class 10th and 12th board examinations scheduled for February 24th, 2025, in Prayagraj district only. The decision comes in response to the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela, anticipating large crowds of pilgrims that could disrupt the exams.
The affected exams, including Hindi (basic and advanced) for class 10 and Military Science and Hindi (general and advanced) for class 12, will now be held on March 9th, 2025. These exams were originally scheduled for two shifts – 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM and 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. Authorities cited concerns about traffic management and security as reasons for the postponement. The postponement only applies to Prayagraj; exams in the remaining 74 districts of Uttar Pradesh will proceed as planned on February 24th.
The UP board exams, which started on February 24th and are scheduled to conclude on March 12th, involve a total of 54,38,597 registered students (27,40,151 for class 10 and 26,98,446 for class 12). Last year’s exams were held from February 22nd to March 9th.
