Fri Feb 21 15:44:16 UTC 2025: ## KPSC Exam Rigged: 10 Candidates Implicated in AEE Selection Scandal

**Bengaluru, February 21, 2025** – A Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) investigation has uncovered major irregularities in the 2023 Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) examination for the Department of Rural Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation. A 500-page report, submitted to the state government on February 20, names ten candidates who tampered with their Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets.

The investigation, launched after an aspirant raised concerns about irregularities, involved forensic analysis of video footage, OMR sheets, and carbon copies by the Forensic Science Laboratories (FSL). The FSL confirmed the tampering, leading to the identification of the ten implicated candidates: Vishwas S., Sinchana M.S., Bhuvana G.L., Naveen Govindappa Hunchareddy, Vishwanath B., Sridhar Hosamani, Sanjeev Kumar Biradar, Ashok Basappa Waddar, Anandkumar, and Amarnayak S.

The KPSC initially faced setbacks with the withdrawal of a sub-committee due to alleged indifference from the then KPSC Secretary. However, a reconstituted committee conducted extensive investigations, including interviewing all candidates on the provisional selection list. The report recommends the cancellation of the selection of the ten candidates implicated in the scandal. This is the first part of a three-part series by The Hindu detailing irregularities in KPSC exams.
