This directive came from the Social Justice Monitoring Committee, chaired by Dravidian ideologue Suba. Veerapandian, during a meeting held on Thursday, February 20th.
The committee, formed by the Tamil Nadu government in 2021, oversees the implementation of social justice initiatives across the state. The meeting, held at Ripon Buildings, saw GCC officials present relevant documents for review. Representatives from several employee associations also voiced their demands.
The committee emphasized the importance of aligning all corporate actions with the principles of social justice. The meeting was attended by key officials, including Chennai Corporation Commissioner J. Kumarakurubaran and several committee members. The committee’s review is part of its ongoing assessments of public institutions and universities in Tamil Nadu.
