Sat Feb 22 09:00:00 UTC 2025: **Andhra Pradesh’s Group 2 Mains Exam Postponed Amidst Roster Controversy**

**Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, February 22, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has postponed the Group 2 Mains examination scheduled for February 23rd. The decision follows a letter from the Andhra Pradesh state government citing concerns over roster irregularities and ongoing litigation.

The postponement comes in response to widespread protests from aspirants who challenged the examination’s scheduling due to alleged discrepancies in the roster system, which dictates the allocation of positions based on caste and other criteria. These protests led to petitions filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. A single-judge bench had initially rejected requests to halt the exam, prompting further protests.

The state government’s letter to the APPSC Secretary requests the postponement until the High Court addresses the roster issue, scheduled for hearing again on March 11th. The government aims to file an affidavit addressing the concerns before the exam proceeds.

The APPSC has stated that while the exam is postponed, the process of candidates choosing their preferred posts and zones will happen after the exam is rescheduled. Minister Nara Lokesh has reportedly assured candidates of a fair resolution. The exact date of the rescheduled exam is yet to be announced.
