**Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, February 22, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has postponed the Group 2 Mains examination scheduled for February 23rd. The decision follows a letter from the Andhra Pradesh state government citing concerns over roster irregularities and ongoing litigation in the High Court.
Candidates have raised objections regarding alleged errors in the roster, leading to a petition filed in the High Court. The court is scheduled to hear the petition again on March 11th. The state government requested the postponement, pending the High Court’s decision and the submission of an affidavit.
Prior to the government’s intervention, candidates had staged protests across the state, including Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad, demanding the postponement and changes to the roster system. They argued that the December 7th, 2023 notification issued by the APPSC contradicted a Supreme Court ruling and G.O. 77 issued by the state government. A single judge bench initially dismissed the petition, prompting the escalated protests.
The APPSC has stated that the candidates will have another opportunity to express their preferences for posts and zones after the examination, ensuring fairness in the selection process. Minister Nara Lokesh has also reportedly assured the candidates of a just resolution. The new date for the Group 2 Mains examination has yet to be announced.
