Sat Feb 22 09:00:00 UTC 2025: ## AP Public Service Commission Confirms Group 2 Mains Exams to Proceed as Scheduled

**Vijayawada, [Date]:** The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has confirmed that the Group 2 Mains examinations will be held as scheduled on February 23rd. Despite ongoing controversies surrounding alleged errors in the notification’s reservation roster, the High Court dismissed petitions challenging the exam, clearing the way for it to proceed.

The exams will consist of two papers, each worth 150 marks, totaling 300 marks. Paper 1 will cover AP’s socio-cultural history and the Indian Constitution, while Paper 2 will focus on Indian and AP’s economy, and science and technology. Candidates are advised to arrive at their respective exam centers 15 minutes prior to the scheduled times: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM for Paper 1 and 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM for Paper 2. Hall tickets can be downloaded from the APPSC website.

However, the decision has sparked controversy. While the High Court dismissed petitions challenging the exam citing errors in the reservation roster, YSR Congress Party leader Sharmila Reddy expressed concern regarding the alleged errors and demanded the government address the issues raised by the 92,250 candidates before the exam. She questioned the urgency of conducting the exam on February 23rd, especially given that the Advocate General acknowledged the errors in the court. Reddy urged the government to intervene and address the candidates’ concerns. She further stated that the government should initiate discussions with the candidates and rectify the alleged errors in the roster before the exam. She warned that the situation mirrors a similar instance in Jharkhand where a notification with roster errors was cancelled, resulting in the loss of job opportunities.
