**Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh:** The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has confirmed that the Group 2 Mains examinations will be held as planned on February 23rd, 2024. The exams, initially scheduled for January 5th, were postponed. Approximately 92,250 candidates are expected to appear for the exam across 175 centers spread across 13 districts.
The Chief Secretary held a review meeting with district collectors to ensure smooth conduct of the exams. The examination will be conducted in two sessions: Paper 1 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and Paper 2 from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Section 144 will be imposed within a 100-meter radius of all examination centers to maintain order and prevent any disruptions. The Chief Secretary warned of strict action against those spreading rumors on social media.
Recent legal challenges to the Group 2 notification’s special reservation points were dismissed by the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The court clarified that the final results will be subject to its final order. The notification, released in December 2023, aims to fill 899 posts.
