Thu Feb 20 18:54:08 UTC 2025: **IIT Madras to Host Major Research and Development Fair**
CHENNAI, February 21, 2025 – The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) will host the third edition of IInventTiv, a two-day research and development fair, on February 28th and March 1st. The fair will showcase approximately 185 innovations from 86 participating institutions, including prominent IITs, NITs, IISERs, and top-ranked universities.
IIT Madras Director V. Kamakoti announced that the event expects to sign at least 25 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with industries to further develop showcased innovations. The fair aims to bridge the gap between lab research and real-world applications through technology transfer and industry-academia collaboration.
A highlight of the event will be the release of a coffee table book documenting impactful technological innovations from Indian higher education institutions. The fair will also feature numerous stalls, plenary talks, and panel discussions focusing on key thematic areas such as aviation, defense, healthcare, sustainability, AI, and smart cities. These discussions will be held in parallel sessions known as “Chintan Shivir.” IIT M’s Shaastra magazine is assisting in organizing the “Chintan Shivir” sessions and the coffee table book.
IInventTiv, launched in 2022, previously held events in IIT Delhi and Hyderabad. This year’s fair promises to be a significant platform for showcasing India’s growing research and development capabilities.
