**Imphal, February 21, 2025** – Manipur police announced the arrest of 17 militants from four districts over the past 24 hours. The crackdown targeted members of various banned outfits, including the Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), United National Liberation Front (P), and Kangleipak Communist Party (City Meitei).
Thirteen KYKL militants were apprehended in Bishnupur district, along with 27 cartridges, three walkie-talkies, camouflage uniforms, and other tactical gear. Individual arrests also included a UNLF(P) militant involved in extortion, a KCP (City Meitei) cadre, and another KYKL member engaged in extortion. All arrested individuals have been taken to Imphal for further investigation. The arrests follow a separate order from the Manipur Governor demanding the return of looted weapons within seven days.
