**Mumbai, India** – The Maharashtra Police’s Cyber Cell has issued summons to popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia (“Beer Biceps”), fellow YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, and actress Rakhi Sawant following a controversy surrounding Allahbadia’s comments on Samay Raina’s YouTube show, “India’s Got Talent.”
Allahbadia and Chanchlani have been summoned for questioning on February 24th, while Sawant is expected to appear on February 27th. Sawant was a guest on one of the show’s episodes. Chanchlani has already given a statement to the Khar police.
The summons follow the filing of several FIRs against Allahbadia for his comments on the show, which were deemed controversial. While the Supreme Court granted him protection from arrest and further FIRs earlier this week, it also criticized his remarks, stating that he had disregarded societal values. The court also heard Chanchlani’s petition to quash or transfer an FIR registered in Guwahati related to the same show. The Gauhati High Court granted Chanchlani interim bail, requiring his appearance before the investigating officer within 10 days.
Samay Raina, the show’s host, has also been summoned by the Cyber Cell, though no specific date has been provided. The ongoing investigation continues to focus on the content of the controversial YouTube episode.
