**GANNAVARAM, KRISHNA DISTRICT, Andhra Pradesh – February 21, 2025** – Five teenage girls who ran away from home after being scolded by their parents for skipping school were safely recovered by police in a swift operation.
The girls, all first-year intermediate students from Gannavaram mandal, left their homes on Thursday, February 20th. Their parents immediately contacted police via the emergency hotline, ‘112’. Superintendent of Police R. Gangadhar Rao responded quickly, forming special teams to locate the missing minors.
Police located the girls at Piduguralla Railway Station late Thursday night, where they were waiting for a train. Within three hours of the initial complaint, the Gannavaram police, aided by officers from Sattenapalli, returned the girls to their families. Tahsildar Venkata Sivaiah was present to counsel the girls before they were reunited with their parents. The operation involved officers from various ranks, including Deputy Superintendents of Police Ch. Srinivas and M. Hanumantha Rao.
The swift and successful recovery highlights the effectiveness of the emergency response system and inter-district police cooperation.
