**ERODE, February 21, 2025** – The minority wing of the Erode Congress Committee has petitioned the Erode Corporation to erect an arch commemorating the “Independence Day Silver Jubilee Bus Stand” at the city’s central bus terminal. The request, submitted Friday to Corporation Commissioner H.S. Srikanth, cites a 1972 municipality resolution (no. 393) officially naming the bus stand. Despite the resolution and the municipality’s subsequent upgrade to a corporation in 2007, the arch has yet to be built, prompting the Congress wing’s renewed appeal. K.N. Basha, vice-president of the Minority Wing, stated that repeated requests have gone unanswered.
