Fri Feb 21 10:49:38 UTC 2025: ## DMK Student Wing to Protest Against BJP Government
**Chennai, February 21, 2025** – The DMK’s student wing has resolved to launch continuous protests against the BJP-led Union government, demanding the release of funds owed to Tamil Nadu under various schemes and education programs. The protests will include participation in a February 25th demonstration organized by the Federation of Student Organisations-Tamil Nadu (FSO-TN).
The student wing also passed resolutions demanding an apology from Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for his remarks on Tamil Nadu’s two-language policy, and condemning what it called the BJP government’s attempts to undermine the state’s achievements in education, medicine, and industry. The resolutions drew parallels between the current situation and past actions by former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai against Hindi imposition, highlighting Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s similar stance. Further protests against Hindi imposition are planned, with the approval of the CM and guidance of the Deputy CM.
Additionally, the DMK student wing announced a campaign promoting rationalism to counter what it described as the RSS and BJP’s efforts to spread “retrograde” religious ideas in Tamil Nadu. The group expressed its commitment to defeating what it characterized as the RSS’s agenda of promoting superstition and Hindutva. Finally, the meeting thanked the Chief Minister for releasing the report “Antiquity of Iron: Recent radiometric dates from Tamil Nadu,” highlighting the findings of the State Department of Archaeology.
