**Patna, Bihar, February 21, 2025** – Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched 263 development schemes totaling ₹820.72 crore in his home district, Nalanda, on Thursday as part of his ongoing Pragati Yatra. The projects included the inauguration of 177 schemes worth ₹361.66 crore and the laying of foundation stones for 86 more, valued at ₹459.05 crore.

Following the inauguration, Mr. Kumar held a review meeting, highlighting his administration’s achievements since 2005. He credited former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his appointment as Chief Minister and contrasted the current state of Bihar with its condition before 2005, emphasizing improvements in infrastructure, law and order, and education. Mr. Kumar specifically cited the improved atmosphere of peace and brotherhood, increased access to electricity, and the reduction in communal violence.

He detailed initiatives undertaken for both Hindu and Muslim communities, including the fencing of over 8,000 graveyards and the construction of boundary walls around older temples to prevent idol theft. He also highlighted the 50% reservation for women in Panchayati Raj Institutions and municipal bodies.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated a new 100-bed girls’ hostel and inspected various other projects, including a renovated pond and a library, interacting with students and encouraging them to pursue their studies. Mr. Kumar’s visit underscores his government’s commitment to continued development across Bihar.
