**Mumbai, India** – Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife, Dhanashree Verma, have officially finalized their divorce. The couple, who married on December 11, 2020, reportedly separated 18 months ago. The divorce was granted on Thursday after a final hearing at the Bandra Family Court.
According to reports, both Chahal and Verma attended the hearing, which included a 45-minute counseling session mandated by the judge. The judge reportedly approved the divorce after confirming that the separation was amicable.
Rumors of the couple’s impending divorce had been circulating on social media for some time, fueled by their mutual unfollowing on Instagram and Dhanashree Verma’s removal of “Chahal” from her social media handles. While Chahal previously dismissed these rumors, the official court proceedings confirm the split.
The couple’s love story, which began when Chahal contacted Verma to learn dance during lockdown, was previously shared by Verma on the dance reality show, “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11.”
Chahal, currently not a part of the Indian team, was last seen playing for India in an ODI in January 2023 and a T20I in August 2023. He was recently bought by Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 auction for ₹18 crore. Neither Chahal nor Verma has yet issued an official statement regarding the divorce.
