Wed Feb 19 19:05:09 UTC 2025: ## Library Pioneer Parameswaran Master Commemorated on 25th Death Anniversary
**MALAPPURAM, Kerala, February 20, 2025** – Parameswaran Master, a prominent figure in Kerala’s library movement, was commemorated on the 25th anniversary of his death. The event, held in Tanur, included the announcement that the new Sobha GLP School building will be named in his honor.
Kerala’s Sports Minister, V. Abdurahman, inaugurated the ceremony, praising Master’s significant contribution to society through his promotion of reading and his inspiration to young people. Master was the first recipient of the prestigious P. N. Panicker Award.
The event also honored P.V. Rajamani, Master’s daughter and a fellow advocate for library development. Other attendees included writer P. Surendran (chief guest), CPI leader Ajit Koladi, BJP leader K. Janachandran, and O.K. Baby Shankar (presiding officer). Mujeeb K. Tanur welcomed the gathering, and A.P. Subramanian delivered the vote of thanks.
