**Norman, OK –** Jacob Henry, son of WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry, has joined the University of Oklahoma Sooners football team as a walk-on, he announced on social media Monday. The 6-foot, 285-pound Henry, a former three-star defensive line recruit, was a standout three-sport athlete in high school, excelling in wrestling, track and field (shot put), and football.
While holding several Division I football offers, including one from Sam Houston State, Henry initially committed to Oklahoma for wrestling a year ago. Despite his father’s allegiance to the Texas Longhorns, Jacob chose the Sooners, even teasing a possible football walk-on attempt last month.
Henry’s impressive high school football resume includes first-team All-District offensive line honors in 2023 and notable defensive statistics from his junior and sophomore seasons at Lake Travis and Vandergrift High Schools, respectively. He is expected to join a roster of 21 defensive linemen for spring practices. His addition brings the number of walk-on defensive linemen to six.
