Thu Feb 20 02:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Auburn’s Jones to Face Arkansas Test After National Player of the Week Honors

**AUBURN, Ala.** – Auburn Tigers guard Denver Jones, fresh off being named the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week, will look to continue his stellar performance against Arkansas on Wednesday. Jones, who also earned SEC Player of the Week honors, led the Tigers to victories over Vanderbilt and No. 2 Alabama, averaging 18.5 points while holding opposing leading scorers to a combined 32.1% shooting from the field and 18.8% from three-point range.

Coach Bruce Pearl praised Jones’s defensive leadership, highlighting his contributions to the team’s success. A win against Arkansas would keep Auburn (23-2, 11-1) in sole possession of first place in the SEC with two-thirds of the conference schedule complete.

Despite an initially rough 0-5 start to conference play, Arkansas (15-10, 4-8) has recently surged, including wins over Kentucky, Texas, and LSU. Pearl acknowledges Arkansas’s talent and the high stakes of the upcoming game, emphasizing that a Razorback victory would significantly boost their NCAA Tournament chances. The game, with considerable implications for both teams, tips off at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN.
