Thu Feb 20 06:47:35 UTC 2025: ## Apple Launches Budget-Friendly iPhone 16e in India

**New Delhi, February 20** – Apple unveiled its latest iPhone, the iPhone 16e, on February 19th, marking a new entry-level model in its 2024 lineup. Replacing the SE-line, the iPhone 16e is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the flagship iPhone 16, though it still commands a premium price.

The iPhone 16e shares a similar design to the iPhone 14, featuring a flat-edged aluminum and glass body, but with a key difference: an Action button replaces the vibration toggle. While available in black and white, it lacks the array of colours offered by the iPhone 16 (Ultramarine, Teal, Pink, White, and Black).

Both phones boast a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with 460ppi pixel density, True Tone, and Wide color (P3) capabilities. However, the iPhone 16e retains a standard notch, unlike the iPhone 16’s Dynamic Island.

In terms of photography, both models include a 48MP main sensor with Apple’s latest imaging technology. The iPhone 16, however, offers an additional ultrawide lens and advanced photography features. While the iPhone 16e delivers excellent photos, users seeking zoom, wide shots, and enhanced computational photography will find the iPhone 16 superior.

Both phones are powered by Apple’s new A18 chip with a 6-core CPU, promising efficient multitasking. The difference lies in the GPU; the iPhone 16 features a 5-core GPU, while the 16e has a 4-core version – a difference unlikely to impact real-world performance significantly.

Apple claims the iPhone 16e provides up to 26 hours of video playback on a single charge, exceeding the iPhone 16’s 22 hours. Both offer impressive battery life.

The iPhone 16e launches in India at ₹59,900, considerably less than the iPhone 16’s ₹79,900 starting price. Both are available in three storage options.
