**New Delhi, India** – Apple has launched the iPhone 16e, a more affordable addition to its iPhone 16 lineup. While sharing several features with the iPhone 16, key differences exist that consumers should consider before purchasing.
The iPhone 16 boasts a Dynamic Island, while the iPhone 16e features a notch. Although both share the same display size, the iPhone 16e’s peak brightness is lower. The iPhone 16e sports a glass back, whereas the iPhone 16 offers a color-infused glass back. Camera capabilities differ significantly; the iPhone 16e lacks the iPhone 16’s advanced camera controls and 12MP ultrawide camera. Optical zoom options are also reduced, with two on the 16e compared to three on the 16. Color options are limited to white and black for the iPhone 16e, unlike the iPhone 16’s wider selection.
Charging capabilities also vary. The iPhone 16e offers 7.5W Qi wireless charging, while the iPhone 16 supports 15W Qi2 wireless charging and up to 25W MagSafe wireless charging, along with MagSafe accessories compatibility. These features are absent in the iPhone 16e.
Under the hood, the iPhone 16e uses an A18 chipset with a 4-core GPU, underperforming the iPhone 16’s 5-core GPU. Connectivity also differs; the iPhone 16e features Apple’s in-house C1 modem and Wi-Fi 6, while the iPhone 16 uses a Snapdragon X75 modem and Wi-Fi 7.
The iPhone 16e starts at ₹59,900 for the 128GB variant in India, significantly less than the iPhone 16’s ₹79,900 starting price. While the iPhone 16e is a suitable option for users who don’t require features like an ultrawide camera, advanced camera controls, or Wi-Fi 7, those seeking MagSafe, a brighter display, Dynamic Island, and enhanced camera features might find it lacking despite its lower price.
