**New Delhi, India** – Apple has unveiled its latest iPhone model, the iPhone 16e, targeting the Indian market with a focus on affordability without compromising on key features. Priced starting at ₹59,900, the iPhone 16e boasts impressive specifications including Apple’s A18 chip, promising a significant performance boost compared to older models.
The device is available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options and comes in black and white. Pre-orders begin February 21st, with sales commencing February 28th. Matching silicone cases will also be available in five colors for ₹3,900.
“The iPhone 16e delivers all the features our users love about the iPhone 16 series at an accessible price point,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president. Key features highlighted include a powerful A18 chip with Apple Intelligence, a long-lasting battery, and an innovative 2-in-1 camera system.
The iPhone 16e features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with a Ceramic Shield front cover and durable back glass, which Apple claims is stronger than any smartphone glass. The A18 chip offers up to 80% faster performance than the A13 Bionic chip found in the iPhone 11, incorporating a 6-core CPU and 4-core GPU. It also includes Apple’s first in-house designed C1 modem, promising highly efficient 5G connectivity.
Camera capabilities include a 48MP Fusion camera with a 2x telephoto lens for optical zoom and the ability to record 4K Dolby Vision video at 60fps with Spatial Audio recording support. The device also integrates Apple’s satellite features for Emergency SOS, roadside assistance, messaging, and Find My services, even without cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity.
Apple Intelligence, powered by a 16-core Neural Engine, offers features like a “Clean Up” tool for photo editing, creative tools like Image Playground and Genmoji, and Siri integration with writing tools and ChatGPT for enhanced conversational AI.
The iPhone 16e is IP68 water and dust resistant, features Face ID, a new Action button, and supports both wireless and USB-C charging. Apple also announced that in April, users will be able to change the iPhone’s primary language to include several Indian languages, including Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
