**Ahmedabad, India** – Shubman Gill has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC ODI batsman rankings, dethroning Pakistan’s Babar Azam. This marks Gill’s second time achieving the number one ranking, having previously held the position during the 2023 ODI World Cup. His recent stellar performance in the three-match ODI series against England, which included two fifties and a century, propelled him to the top. The decisive century, his seventh in ODIs, was scored in Ahmedabad. Azam now sits in second place, 23 points behind Gill. India’s Rohit Sharma remains at number three. Other notable climbers include New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell and Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka, who both entered the top 10.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana claimed the number one spot in the ODI bowler rankings, surpassing Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan. Several other bowlers saw significant ranking improvements, including India’s Kuldeep Yadav and New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner. Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi remains the top-ranked all-rounder.
