**BEIRUT** – A new documentary explores the remarkable story of the Karami family, a Sunni Muslim dynasty that has profoundly shaped Lebanese politics for generations. Three Karami men served as Lebanon’s Prime Minister a total of 11 times, navigating the country through its most turbulent periods.
The film traces the family’s influence from Abdul Hamid Karami, Lebanon’s second Prime Minister (1945), to his son Rashid, who held the office eight times before his assassination in 1987. Rashid’s brother, Omar Karami, also served two terms but his career ended amidst controversy following the 2005 assassination of Rafik Hariri.
Now, a new generation, led by Faisal Karami, aims to continue the family’s political legacy.
