**KARUR, February 19, 2025** – Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai accused the ruling DMK party of launching disinformation campaigns to deflect criticism over its handling of various state issues. Speaking at a BJP public meeting, Annamalai refuted claims that the BJP was imposing Hindi, clarifying that their advocacy was for a third language option alongside Tamil, which could include Malayalam, Telugu, or Kannada. He highlighted the New Education Policy’s emphasis on mother tongue education and stated that the DMK’s campaign was a distraction from issues like deteriorating law and order.
Annamalai further criticized the DMK government for the increasing number of students in private schools exceeding those in government schools. He pointed out that while private schools generally follow a three-language formula, government schools are failing to provide this opportunity, urging the state government to prioritize students’ future over political maneuvering.
