Wed Feb 19 02:09:09 UTC 2025: ## Trump Bans Musk from Space-Related Government Decisions

**Washington, D.C.** – President Trump announced Tuesday that he will bar Elon Musk from participating in any government decisions related to space. This follows concerns regarding potential conflicts of interest stemming from Musk’s role as a senior advisor to the president and his efforts to cut federal spending through the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

While the White House previously stated that Musk would recuse himself from situations presenting conflicts of interest, President Trump has now taken a more definitive stance. “Anything to do with possibly even space, we won’t let Elon partake in that,” Trump told reporters.

The President emphasized Musk’s patriotic contributions, stating, “Elon is, to me, a patriot. So you know, you could call him an employee, you could call him a consultant… but he’s a patriot.” The White House clarified Monday that Musk is a White House employee and senior advisor, but holds no decision-making authority within DOGE, which has overseen sweeping agency reforms and job cuts since President Trump’s second term began last month. The President appointed Musk to lead DOGE’s efforts to eliminate wasteful government spending. Despite this, the President’s latest statement firmly excludes Musk from any involvement in space-related policy.
