Tue Feb 18 16:52:33 UTC 2025: ## Vivo V50 Arrives: Enhanced Camera and Features Over Predecessor V40

**New Delhi, India** – Vivo has launched its latest V-series smartphone, the Vivo V50, boasting significant upgrades over its predecessor, the V40. Priced competitively at ₹34,999 for the base model, the V50 maintains a camera-centric approach, leveraging Zeiss-powered optics.

The most noticeable improvements are in the camera department. The V50 features a 50MP main wide camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera, capable of recording 4K video at 30fps. The selfie camera also boasts a 50MP sensor with 4K video recording. While the V40 also features a 50MP selfie camera and Zeiss branding, the V50’s dual 50MP rear camera system represents a substantial upgrade.

Performance remains largely similar, with both phones powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. However, the V50 offers a larger 6,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging, compared to the V40’s 5,500mAh battery and 80W charging. The V50 also sports a more advanced quad-curved display (compared to the V40’s dual-curved display) and improved IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance (V40: IP68). The V50’s display is a 6.77-inch AMOLED panel with 4,500 nits peak brightness and 388 PPI, while the V40 offers a slightly larger 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with 4,500 nits peak brightness and 453 PPI.

Software-wise, the V50 runs Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15, promising three major Android updates, exceeding the V40’s Android 14 and Funtouch OS 14. Both phones include under-display fingerprint scanners. While the base models are similarly priced, the top-end 12GB RAM variant of the V50 is slightly cheaper than its V40 counterpart (₹40,999 vs ₹41,999). The V50 also offers new color options: Titanium Grey, Rose Red, and Starry Night.
