Mon Feb 17 18:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Vivo Launches V50 Smartphone in India, Packing Powerful Features at Competitive Price

**New Delhi, India –** Vivo has unveiled its latest offering, the V50 smartphone, in the Indian market, priced aggressively under Rs 40,000. The device, a successor to the Vivo V40, arrives just five months after its predecessor and boasts several key upgrades while retaining some familiar features.

The V50 starts at Rs 34,999 for the 128GB variant and Rs 36,999 for the 256GB model. Pre-orders are open, with the first sale scheduled for February 25th across Flipkart, Vivo exclusive stores, and other retail outlets. Launch offers include a Rs 2,000 instant discount on select bank credit cards and up to six months of no-cost EMIs.

While inheriting the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor from the V40, the V50 features upgraded 50-megapixel dual rear cameras, although the company has confirmed they are different sensors from the previous model. It also retains the 6.78-inch quad-curved FHD+ 120Hz display and a 50-megapixel front camera. The design remains largely similar, but the V50 comes in new Titanium Grey, Rose Red, and Starry Night colors, and boasts a slimmer profile (7.39mm) than its predecessor.

A significant upgrade is the larger 6,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging, surpassing the V40’s 5,500mAh battery and 80W charging. Surprisingly, the V50 also includes IP68 and IP69 ratings for water resistance, a feature typically found in higher-priced flagships. The device further includes advanced AI features such as Circle to Search, AI Transcript, and AI Live Call Translation.

Vivo claims the V50 offers a superior camera experience compared to the V40, placing it in direct competition with other popular mid-range smartphones like the OnePlus 12R and iQOO Neo 9 Pro.
