**Chennai, February 18, 2025** – Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai issued a challenge to opposition leaders on Monday, demanding they disclose where their children and grandchildren are studying in the context of the state’s opposition to the three-language policy mandated by the National Education Policy (NEP).
In a video message posted on X, Annamalai called out Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Leader of Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami, Naam Tamizhar Katchi chief coordinator Seeman, and Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam president Vijay, urging them to reveal whether their offspring are educated in private schools offering three-language instruction. He stated the BJP would also make such a disclosure.
Annamalai argued that the opposition’s objections to the NEP’s three-language policy are hypocritical, citing that 56 lakh students in Tamil Nadu’s private schools and 30 lakh in CBSE, ICSE, and IB schools already learn three languages. He accused the DMK of creating a class divide based on language and education, alleging that those lacking three-language proficiency are relegated to lower-paying jobs. He emphasized that the NEP allows students to choose a third Indian language, refuting claims of Hindi imposition. Annamalai declared the BJP’s commitment to implementing the three-language policy.
