**New Delhi, February 18, 2025** – The National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM) has accused the Delhi police of failing to act on an attack against a young environmental activist. 23-year-old Naveen Solanki, who was attempting to prevent the felling of trees in a Dwarka forest area, was allegedly hit by a tractor on February 9th.
According to NAPM, a pan-India environmental advocacy group, Solanki’s complaint has not resulted in a police First Information Report (FIR). Despite a letter to the Delhi Police Commissioner highlighting the incident, no response has been received. A Delhi police spokesperson declined to comment when contacted by *The Hindu*.
Solanki has been actively working to protect 120 acres of forest in Dwarka. NAPM member Neelam Ahluwalia stated the inaction of the police is deeply concerning. The organization is demanding immediate action and investigation into the attack.
