Tue Feb 18 14:34:26 UTC 2025: ## Karnataka Teams Up with SaveLIFE Foundation to Improve Road Safety
**Bengaluru, February 18, 2025** – The Karnataka government announced a significant partnership with the SaveLIFE Foundation aimed at drastically reducing road accident fatalities across the state. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed Tuesday in the presence of Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy and Transport Secretary N.V. Prasad, will focus on data-driven interventions to improve road safety.
A key element of the collaboration is the implementation of the ‘Zero Fatality District’ (ZFD) program. This initiative will identify high-risk road networks and implement targeted safety measures. The program builds upon the success of existing efforts, which saw a 46% reduction in fatalities on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway in 2024.
SaveLIFE Foundation will also assist in transforming high-risk areas into ‘Zero Fatality Corridors’ by improving road design, signage, and trauma care response systems. This comprehensive approach aims to create a safer road environment for all citizens of Karnataka.
