**Nagercoil, February 18, 2025** – Collector R. Alagumeena conducted a surprise inspection of the Government Primary School at Chettikulam in Kanniyakumari district on Tuesday. Her visit focused on the quality of the breakfast program provided to students.
Ms. Alagumeena personally checked the food being served and interacted with children, inquiring about their preferences and satisfaction with the varied daily menu. She also discussed the program with teachers, seeking feedback on student enjoyment and potential menu adjustments.
Noting the low student enrollment, the Collector instructed the headmistress to implement measures to increase enrollment for the upcoming academic year. Concerns were also raised about the dilapidated condition of an old school building near the currently under-construction kitchen. The Collector directed teachers to submit a request to the education department for the immediate demolition of the unsafe structure and construction of a replacement.
