Vadodara, India – Smriti Mandhana’s explosive 81 propelled Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to an eight-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 on Monday. Mandhana’s blistering innings, punctuated by 10 fours and three sixes, overshadowed a disciplined bowling performance from RCB, which restricted Delhi to a modest 141.

Renuka Singh Thakur (3/23) and Georgia Wareham (3/25) spearheaded RCB’s bowling attack, dismantling Delhi’s batting order despite a promising start from Meg Lanning and Jemimah Rodrigues. The Delhi Capitals’ innings faltered after a strong powerplay, ultimately succumbing to RCB’s tight bowling in the middle overs.

Mandhana and Danni Wyatt-Hodge (42) then orchestrated a dominant opening partnership of 107 runs, effectively sealing the victory for RCB in just 16.2 overs. Richa Ghosh finished the chase with a six, securing an easy win for the reigning champions.

Mandhana was named Player of the Match, attributing the win to the team’s strong bowling performance and excellent fielding. Delhi captain Meg Lanning acknowledged RCB’s superior bowling in the middle overs as a key factor in their defeat.

RCB remains unbeaten in the tournament, solidifying their position at the top of the table. The WPL 2025 continues on Tuesday with Gujarat taking on Mumbai.
