**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, February 18, 2025** – The Kerala government will introduce guidelines and a new web portal to monitor and regulate direct selling companies, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced. The initiative, formally launched Wednesday, aims to curb fraudulent practices and protect consumers.
Food and Civil Supplies Minister G.R. Anil explained that while direct selling offers entrepreneurial opportunities, it has also led to exploitation and pyramid schemes. The new regulations will require all direct selling companies operating in Kerala to register with a monitoring authority. The authority will scrutinize applications, verify company credibility, and publish a list of verified companies online. This transparency will help consumers identify legitimate businesses and avoid scams, Minister Anil stated.
