**Mumbai, India** – Laxman Utekar’s historical action drama, “Chhaava,” starring Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna, continues its box office dominance. The film, which opened last week to rave reviews, has already crossed ₹140.50 crore net in just four days, according to Sacnilk.
“Chhaava” set a new record for Valentine’s Day openings, raking in ₹31 crore on its first day, surpassing the previous record held by “Gully Boy.” The film’s strong weekend performance saw collections jump to ₹37 crore and ₹48.5 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively. While Monday saw a dip to ₹24 crore, the cumulative total remains impressive, cementing “Chhaava’s” place as one of the highest-grossing films of 2025.
Lead actor Vicky Kaushal, in an interview with ANI, described playing Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj as his “toughest role yet,” citing the extensive physical and mental preparation required for the demanding historical role. He highlighted the dedication necessary to portray the historical figure authentically.
“Chhaava,” produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, also features Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb and Diana Penty as Zinat-un-Nissa Begum. The film boasts a stellar soundtrack composed by AR Rahman.
