Leading the charge was BYD, which launched its flagship premium SUV, the Sealion 7, at ₹48.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The EV boasts a claimed range of 567 km and 690 Nm of torque and is available in two trims. Over 1,000 bookings have already been received, with deliveries slated to begin in mid-March 2025.
Renault India updated its Kiger SUV and Triber MPV with minor cosmetic and feature enhancements. These updates are intended to boost sales ahead of the launch of next-generation models in the second half of 2025.
In the motorcycle segment, Aprilia India introduced the Tuono 457 streetfighter at ₹3.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). Bookings are open, with test rides and deliveries commencing in early March. The bike shares its underpinnings with the RS 457 and is manufactured in India.
Luxury car enthusiasts received good news with the launch of the facelifted Audi RS Q8. This high-performance SUV, priced at ₹2.49 crore (ex-showroom, India), features a powerful V8 engine and updated features.
Finally, stricter regulations for FASTag usage came into effect. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) announced increased penalties for vehicles using blacklisted FASTags or those with insufficient balance, aiming to improve traffic flow at toll plazas.
