NEW DELHI – Italian motorcycle manufacturer Aprilia has launched its newest offering in the Indian market, the Tuono 457. Priced at ₹3.95 lakh (ex-showroom), this marks the brand’s most affordable motorcycle in India, undercutting even its sibling, the RS 457, by ₹25,000. The launch event was attended by Aprilia’s brand ambassador, John Abraham.
The Tuono 457 boasts a sporty design, distinct from its 660 and V4 siblings. Key features include LED DRLs and a center-set LED headlight, all housed in a minimalist design eschewing large fairings. It comes in two color options: Piranha Red and Puma Grey.
Powering the Tuono 457 is the same 457cc parallel-twin engine found in the RS 457, delivering 46.9bhp and 43.5Nm of torque. A six-speed gearbox is standard, with a quickshifter available as an optional extra. Additional features include all-LED lighting, traction control, ride modes, switchable ABS, and a color TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
Suspension is handled by preload-adjustable USD forks and a monoshock, while braking is achieved via disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels.
Although priced higher than competitors like the KTM 390 Duke (₹2.95 lakh) and Yamaha MT-03 (₹3.50 lakh), the Tuono 457 offers a unique blend of performance and features within the Aprilia lineup. Potential buyers should expect a 10-month waiting period.
