LOS ANGELES – Footage Films announced today that its upcoming sci-fi thriller, “Run,” will hit theaters this May. The film boasts a stellar cast led by Annie Ilonzeh (“S.W.A.T.”), Marques Houston (“You Got Served”), and Erica Mena (“Love & Hip Hop”). Rounding out the ensemble are Erica Pinkett, Drew Sidora, Ken Lawson, Claudia Jordan, and Obba Babatunde.
Directed by Chris Stokes, “Run” follows Melissa, who seeks solace on a girls’ trip after a broken engagement. Their getaway takes a terrifying turn when one of the friends is found murdered, coinciding with a nationwide alien invasion announcement. The women must fight for survival against both earthly and extraterrestrial threats.
Stokes stated that the film aims to revitalize theatrical viewership within the urban community, building on the success Footage Films has achieved with its Tubi releases. The production company is clearly betting on the star power of its cast to draw audiences back to the big screen.
