Tue Feb 18 03:27:38 UTC 2025: **AAP Attacks BJP’s Delay in Naming Delhi Chief Minister**

New Delhi, February 18, 2025 — The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) intensified its criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday for its delay in appointing a Chief Minister for Delhi following the recent elections. AAP leaders claimed the BJP’s internal struggles could lead to three Chief Ministers within the next five years, mirroring the BJP’s previous tenure in Delhi.

AAP Delhi convener Gopal Rai held a press conference, alleging that the BJP’s internal conflicts and power struggles indicate a pattern of instability. He cited the BJP’s previous history of changing Chief Ministers frequently as evidence of potential future instability. Outgoing Chief Minister Atishi echoed these concerns.

The BJP responded by accusing Atishi of making reckless statements and questioning her suitability as Leader of the Opposition. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva questioned the support Atishi has amongst senior AAP MLAs.

Meanwhile, AAP announced plans to restructure its Delhi unit, holding meetings with party officials to review the recent election campaign and address organizational weaknesses. The party stated its commitment to acting as a responsible opposition in the Assembly while continuing its street-level activism. The selection of AAP’s Leader of the Opposition will be made before the upcoming Assembly session.
