Tue Feb 18 05:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Delta Flight Overturns at Toronto Pearson, 18 Injured

**TORONTO, ON** – A Delta Air Lines flight from Minneapolis overturned upon landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) on Monday, resulting in 18 injuries, three of them critical, according to authorities. Strong winds following a snowstorm are believed to be a contributing factor to the incident.

The aircraft, carrying approximately 80 passengers and crew, landed upside down, prompting a large-scale emergency response. Peel Regional Police confirmed the incident, stating that while most passengers were unharmed, emergency crews are still assessing the situation. Two adults and a child sustained critical injuries and were transported to trauma centres and a children’s hospital respectively. Twelve other passengers received treatment for less serious injuries at a local hospital. All passengers and crew have been accounted for.

Toronto Pearson Airport acknowledged the incident in a statement, confirming that emergency services responded to the Delta flight arrival from Minneapolis. The airport website showed numerous flight delays following the incident, and a temporary ground stop was implemented.

Social media videos show the plane lying on its back with emergency crews surrounding the aircraft. Passenger accounts corroborate the incident, with some describing the immediate aftermath of the overturned plane and the subsequent evacuation.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is expected to launch a full investigation.
