**Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh –** Three women died and seven others were injured in a head-on collision between a passenger auto-rickshaw and a state-run RTC bus in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, early Monday morning. The accident occurred around 5:15 a.m. near Narakoduru in Chebrolu mandal.
The auto-rickshaw, carrying passengers from Suddapalli village to Budampadu, was struck by the reportedly speeding RTC bus. Three women—Allamsetti Arunakumari, Kurra Namcharamma, and Thota Seethararumulu—were killed instantly. The injured were transported to the Government General Hospital (GGH) in Guntur for treatment.
Police have registered a case and launched a full-scale investigation into the accident. Authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine any further action.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his deep sorrow, calling the accident heartbreaking, particularly given that the victims were women traveling for work. He promised financial assistance to the families of the deceased and ordered officials to provide the best possible medical care for the injured.
Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, also expressed shock and directed the district collector to provide full support to the victims’ families. He ordered a detailed investigation into the accident. District in-charge Minister Kandula Durgesh echoed the sentiments of grief and instructed officials to ensure quality treatment for the injured. All ministers pledged government support to the affected families.
