Mon Feb 17 09:45:00 UTC 2025: ## Over 1,000 Tamil Nadu Doctors to Receive Transfer Orders
**Chennai, February 17, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu government will distribute transfer orders to over 1,000 doctors on February 20th, Health Minister Ma. Subramanian announced. These doctors, appointed in 2024, fulfilled a one-year service commitment in districts with high vacancy rates. Following a three-day transfer counselling process, the orders are now ready for distribution at the Directorate of Public Health and Directorate of Medical Services premises.
The Minister also revealed that appointment orders will be issued to 2,642 newly recruited doctors within the next 10 days. These appointments follow an examination held on January 5th, 2025, to fill 2,553 vacancies, with an additional 89 posts added later. Certificate verification for these recruits took place from January 12th to 15th. Counselling will precede their posting.
Minister Subramanian made the announcements at the Greater Chennai Corporation’s event and during a subsequent press meet. He attended the 55th Annual Day celebrations of a government girls’ school in Chennai alongside corporation officials, local representatives, and students.
