**Guwahati, India –** The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE) in Assam has announced the recruitment of 4,500 teachers for its lower and upper primary schools. The application window is now open and will close on March 31st, 2025. Aspiring teachers can apply online through the official DEE website, dee.assam.gov.in.
The recruitment drive includes 2,900 Assistant Teacher positions for lower primary schools and 1,600 positions for Assistant Teachers, Science Teachers, and Hindi Teachers in upper primary schools. Separate merit lists will be prepared for each district and category.
Eligibility requires candidates to have passed either the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) or the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), with a qualifying language matching the school’s medium of instruction. Applicants must be between 18 and 40 years old as of January 1st, 2025, with age relaxations for reserved categories. Individuals with more than two children born after January 1st, 2021, are ineligible.
