JAIPUR, INDIA – The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the schedule for the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which will commence on March 22nd and run for 65 days, encompassing 74 matches. The opening match will see defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders facing off against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The final will be held at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 25th.

Matches will be played across 13 Indian cities, with Dharamshala hosting matches for the first time and Kolkata hosting the final after a 10-year gap. Twelve double-header days are planned. The schedule allocates three afternoon matches each to Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, and Gujarat Titans, while other teams will play two afternoon matches each. Afternoon matches will begin at 3:30 PM.

**Jaipur’s Role:** The Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur will host five IPL 2025 matches. These include: Rajasthan Royals vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore (April 13th), Rajasthan Royals vs. Lucknow Super Giants (April 19th), Rajasthan Royals vs. Gujarat Titans (April 28th), Rajasthan Royals vs. Mumbai Indians (May 1st), and Rajasthan Royals vs. Punjab Kings (May 16th).

**Stadium Enhancements:** Significant upgrades are underway at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, including the addition of 500 new VIP seats in the South Pavilion. Further improvements are being made to the pavilion’s capacity, and dressing rooms are being enlarged. The President’s Box is also undergoing renovations. Rajasthan Royals are funding these improvements, estimated at ₹2-2.5 crore. A team camp will begin at the stadium on March 8th.
