Mon Feb 17 11:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Microsoft Embraces Multiplatform Marketing, Showcases PlayStation Games Alongside Xbox Titles

**London, UK** – Microsoft is significantly altering its marketing strategy, openly showcasing its games on rival consoles during its Xbox showcases. This marks a departure from previous practices where PlayStation 5 (PS5) releases were announced separately or omitted entirely from initial reveals.

Recent Xbox Developer Directs have prominently featured the PS5 logo alongside Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass for titles like *Ninja Gaiden 4*, *Doom: The Dark Ages*, and *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33*. This contrasts sharply with last year’s June showcase, where PS5 versions were either announced after the Xbox event or excluded altogether.

This shift is in direct contrast to Sony and Nintendo, who continue to focus solely on their own platforms during showcases. Recent State of Play presentations, for example, made no mention of Xbox, even for games released on multiple platforms.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer confirmed this strategic change to XboxEra, hinting that future showcases will likely include the Nintendo Switch 2 logo alongside PS5. This suggests that upcoming Xbox titles like *Gears of War: E-Day*, *Fable*, and *Perfect Dark* may see their PS5 versions prominently featured alongside their Xbox counterparts.

While Microsoft’s move towards multiplatform marketing is clear, it’s unlikely that Sony and Nintendo will reciprocate, reinforcing their long-standing focus on their own ecosystems.
