**Muscat, Oman – February 16, 2025** – External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held talks today with his Omani counterpart, Badr Albusaidi, focusing on bolstering bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and energy security. The meeting took place in Muscat, where Jaishankar is attending the 8th Indian Ocean Conference.

The ministers jointly unveiled a logo commemorating 70 years of diplomatic ties between India and Oman, and a new book titled “Mandvi to Muscat: Indian Community and the Shared History of India and Oman.” The book highlights the significant contributions of the large Indian diaspora in Oman, which numbers approximately 664,783 individuals (as of August 2024, according to the Omani government).

Jaishankar expressed his appreciation for Oman’s successful hosting of the conference and lauded Albusaidi’s efforts. The discussions covered a broad range of topics aimed at strengthening the already existing strong bilateral relationship.
