**New Delhi, India –** A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 struck Delhi-NCR and surrounding areas on Monday morning at 5:36:55 AM, causing panic among residents. The tremor, which lasted only a few seconds, was felt across the region, including Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Faridabad, and several cities in Haryana. The National Center for Seismology reported the epicenter was approximately 5 kilometers below the surface in New Delhi.

While the quake caused widespread alarm, prompting people to evacuate buildings, there have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries. Delhi Police took to X (formerly Twitter) to assure residents of their safety and provide the emergency number (112) for assistance.

This is the second earthquake to hit the Delhi-NCR region in recent weeks; a similar event was reported on January 7th.
