**Mumbai, India** – The Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna starrer “Chhaava,” a period drama directed by Laxman Utekar, has stormed the Indian box office, achieving a record-breaking opening weekend. The film, which opened on Valentine’s Day (February 14th), raked in an impressive ₹116.50 crore (approximately $14 million USD) in its first three days.

This surpasses the opening weekend collections of several major Bollywood films, including Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s “Fighter” (₹115 crore), “Padmaavat” (₹114 crore), “Kalki 2898 AD” (₹112.15 crore), “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” (₹110.20 crore), and even the iconic “Dangal” (₹107 crore). “Chhaava” also shattered several of Salman Khan’s film records, outperforming “Tiger Zinda Hai,” “Bajrangi Bhaijaan,” “Bodyguard,” “Kick,” and “Ek Tha Tiger.”

The film’s remarkable success also marks a personal milestone for Vicky Kaushal, making “Chhaava” his highest-grossing film to date and his first to cross ₹100 crore in a single weekend.

“Chhaava,” which tells the story of Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, reportedly had a production budget of approximately ₹130 crore. With its strong opening weekend, the film is nearing profitability. The positive audience response and the film’s continued strong performance suggest that “Chhaava” is poised for even greater success in the coming weeks.
