**Mumbai, India** – Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD India has officially launched its highly anticipated Sealion 7 SUV in India, priced at ₹48.9 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Premium variant and ₹54.9 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Performance variant. Both variants feature an 82.56 kWh battery pack. The launch follows an impressive pre-order period, with over 1,000 bookings secured within a month of opening the promotional booking window.

The Sealion 7 boasts cutting-edge technology, including BYD’s innovative Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology, integrating the Blade Battery directly into the vehicle’s chassis for enhanced safety, handling, and interior space. The vehicle also incorporates Intelligence Torque Adaption Control (iTAC) for optimized driving performance.

Performance figures vary between the two variants. The Performance model delivers 530 bhp and 690 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and a range of 542 km (NEDC). The Premium variant prioritizes efficiency, offering 313 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, a 0-100 km/h time of 6.7 seconds, and a slightly extended range of 567 km (NEDC).

Luxury features abound in the Sealion 7, including a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, a heads-up display, a 12-speaker audio system, leather seats, and a 50W wireless charger. Safety is prioritized with 11 airbags, driver fatigue monitoring, and VTOL (Vehicle-to-Load) functionality for powering external devices.

BYD’s expanding Indian presence now includes over 40 dealerships supporting the Sealion 7, alongside its existing Atto 3, eMAX7, and Seal models. The strong initial response suggests the Sealion 7 is poised to make a significant impact on the growing Indian electric SUV market.
